Isaac is a junior at Arlington High School. Besides serving on the youth advisory board of Carson Cares, Isaac volunteers through the Arlington Teen Court Program, where he represents first time teen offenders as an attorney. Isaac leads many school organizations, serving as President of the National Honor Society for the 2017-2018 school year and currently serving as Secretary for the Straights and Gays for Equality Club and Secretary for the AHS Speech and Debate Team. As a debater, Isaac was a 2016 and 2017 regional qualifier in Extemporaneous Informative Speaking. Isaac is a leader outside of school as well, obtaining the rank of Eagle Scout at the age of 14 and taking part in the Youth Leadership Arlington class of 2017. He excels in school as a National Merit Semifinalist and he is ranked number 10 in the Junior Class. Isaac is a great leader, a great community member, and an incredible servant of the community.
Shahwana is a Junior at Arlington High School. She is a very hard-working, caring, student who loves to help her community in any way that she can. Shahwana attends Arlington High School where she is involved in her school’s photography program, as well as the National Honor Society. She is also a very loving older sister to her younger brother. Shahwana makes a difference in her community, not only by serving on the board of Carson Cares, but also on her own by mentoring children through the PALs (Peer Assisted Leadership) class. They visit junior high schools and mentor students who might need extra help, as well as teaching classes important life lessons. Shahwana gets good grades and is number 26 in the Junior Class. She is an exceptional volunteer, and she is definitely someone who the youth of Arlington can look up to.
Emma is a junior at Arlington High School where she is the Vice President of the National Honor Society, as well as Editor-in-Chief of the school newspaper, The Colt. She is in the International Baccalaureate program as well. Outside of school, she has three younger siblings and two dogs that she loves to hang out with. Emma enjoys anchoring AISD-TV, the school district’s weekly news show, as well as interning with the AISD telecommunications department. In 2016 she received the Sheris Growe Youth Service Leader of the Year award. After high school, Emma hopes to go to college out of state and study political science and broadcast journalism. Post-college she wishes to join the Peace Corps as either an English teacher or a community youth development director. Then she wants to pursue either political broadcast journalism, or be an overseas correspondent for a news company.
Carson is a Junior at Arlington High School. He started Carson Cares at the age of six and to see more of the Carson Cares history, click here. Carson has always had the desire to make the world a better place, and he strives to do so not only through Carson Cares but also in his personal life. Carson is in the National Honor Society at Arlington High School and he will serve as the Social Chair during the 2017-2018 school year. Carson will also be a representative of the Senior Class in the Student Council at AHS during the 2017-2018 school year. He has won several awards for his service to the community, including an award from Radio Disney and Kohl’s Department Stores’ Kohl’s Cares Scholarship Regional Winner in 2013 and several more. He also serves on the GenerationOn Youth Advisory Council and he is currently in Youth Leadership Arlington class of 2017. Through Carson Cares, he speaks to the community about Carson Cares and the importance of volunteerism in general. In his free time, Carson enjoys dabbling in photography and graphic design and he plays golf for Arlington High’s Varsity team. He hopes to major in Marketing in college with a minor in Advertising.
LaShaunn Bold has been the Carson Cares Board Secretary for 10 years. She enjoys participating in the planning and facilitation of every Carson Cares event. Her desire to be part of a thriving community fuels her passion for helping others. As the proud parent of the youth founder of Carson Cares, LaShaunn is excited about the vision Carson has for the future of Carson Cares. and creating long lasting SERVE. opportunities for kids in our community.
