Global Youth Service Day

This year

This year Carson Cares went to SafeHaven to pot flowers with the kids and show them that someone cares. See our pictures above.

We would also like to recognize Emma Ruby and Sam Whipple for winning the Arlington Alliance for Youth: Youth Leader of the Year.

What is Global Youth Service Day?

Global Youth Service Day (GYSD) is the largest youth service event in the world with millions of youth in more than 100 countries engaged in community service and service learning projects. You can sign up to volunteer with Carson Cares or you can sign up as a group through Arlington Alliance for Youth if you have a group that wants to host your own project.

The City of Arlington Provides a “Thank You Celebration for Youth” on GYSD (11:30 am to 1:30 pm) at the Levitt Pavilion in downtown Arlington. All participating groups are invited to attend, enjoy a free lunch and entertainment, and celebrate the many youth groups and youth that will be honored for their great work in our community.

What We Do At the Season of Giving Event

At the Season of Giving event Carson Cares and Bailey Junior High assemble Operation Christmas Child Boxes. An Operation Christmas Child box is a shoe box filled with toys, and other things a boy or a girl in a certain age group might need. The child that will get this box is overseas, in an impoverished place.
